Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02cm) in height overall consisting of a globe with gold gridlines, quartered purple and white, surmounted overall by a gold phoenix rising out of scarlet flames, all in front of an open gold scroll rolled back at each end and inscribed above the globe, "PHOENIX" in red enamel letters.

Symbolism
The phoenix with the open scroll symbolizes the Group's mission to re-establish civil order out of chaos. The globe alludes to the 301st Civil Affairs Group's global capabilities. Purple and white are colors used by Civil Affairs units.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 18 Mar 1970.
